The establishment of the Centre is a massive step towards dealing with the aftermath of trauma. The things that are learnt will not only benefit those ravaged by conflict but the many others who have faced trauma, injury or other interventions that have left them wounded. I am one of the latter and have been living with scarring and other consequences for over 10 years. Now I am delighted to be part of a forward-thinking research group that aim to find solutions that will help all of us enjoy futures that will give us the greatest chance of fulfilment.
